A day at the dental surgery

Dear Readers,

I finished creating a practice for my Truffle family and immediately wrote a story. Enjoy! :)

................................................................................................

Excited Victoria and Eustace Barrington Truffle entered their dental surgery.

Finally they could open their practice. The paperwork was done and the man from the health authority had given his ok.
It was a big change for Marigold Creek, who hadn't any health care, beside a little mysterious pharmacy in the forest, before.

While Victoria checked all machines, Eustace looked at their sign.

Everything looked good - no mistakes, a nice design. Eustace was pleased.

He was even more pleased at this moment, because Albus Bamboo, the owner of the candy cart arrived.

"Good morning Mr. Truffle!", he said, "I have your special bonbons!"
"Wonderful!", Eustace glanced all over his face, "You are great in time."

"Of course, it was very important for me... And also it was a special delivery."

At this moment Victoria walked outside, carrying a bowl, "Eustace, you forgot something!", she laughed, then she said, "Good morning Albus!"
"Good morning, Victoria. You look beautiful in white!"
The wildboar lady grinned, "Ah, thank you! I wished the patients would think that too. But they often fear me..."
"They don't fear you, darling!", Eustace said, "They just fear our job. Dentists seem to be very scary for many people."

Amused Albus shook his head, "Don't worry, nobody will fear you here! Let me show you the special bonbons!"
"Of course! I can't wait to see... and taste them."

The wildboar couple took a closer look at all the delicious sweets. Albus opened a drawer, "Here they are. I got them in two different flavours: blueberry and rasperry. They are guaranteed sugar free, but taste as sweet as normal bonbons, because of this special sugar flower Cassandra Maces have found."

"Wow! It's an amazing found!", Victoria went to the panda man, who filled their bowl with bonbons, "It's perfect for our practice! We can reward the little ones after their visit and nobody has to fear that the sugar will harm their teeth!"
"It's a great idea for your practice!", complimented Albus, "I'm planning to get more of the sugar flowers, so I can also make more sugar free sweets."

Meanwhile Eustace got himself a lolly - he loved sweets and he just couldn't resist the strawberry smell.

Interested he walked around the corner and detected a cow lady and her three children.

"Good morning!", he greeted friendly.
The cow smiled, "Good morning! I see, we are already on the right place! Here's the doctor!"
Happy Eustace nodded, "You want to visit our dental surgery?"
"Yes. It's time for the children's check-up!"

"Great, please come in!", Eustace guided the family to the practice.
After Victoria said her goodbye to Albus, she immediately welcomed the Buttercups and gathered the families datas.

"Today just for the children, my husband and I will come next week, if this is okay...", Daisy said.

"Of course. Should we make an appoinment?"
"That would be great. Maybe on Friday?"
Victoria nodded, "At 10 o'clock?"
"Perfect!", Daisy smiled.

While the two women were talking, little Elizabeth looked to Eustace Barrington, who was very impressive with his huge trunks.

"Hello, little lady. What's your name?"
"Elizabeth.", she said shyly.
"That is a pretty name! I'm Eustace. Nice to meet you!"

"I fear my little ones are all a bit afraid today...", Daisy explained, "It's their first time. But I already told them, that nothing bad will happen. I took good care of their teeth."

Eustace smiled and turned to the children, "Don't worry, I promise you your mum was right. I'm sure you have great teeth and I just have to look at them."
"Really? Just looking?", Paddock asked.
"Yes."

"Okay, than I will be the first!", brave the young boy took a seat on the dentist chair.
"You're Paddock, right?"
"Yes."

Eustace took the little mirror, "Ok, Paddock. See, with this I can see all parts of your teeth and check if they're healthy."

"But you don't have to drill, right?"
"I don't think so.", said Eustace calming, "Please open your mouth, than we will know."

Fastly the doctor checked all teeth, "Perfect! There's no hole, no staining. Your teeth are very healthy Paddock!"

Happily the boy jumped from the seat, "Thank you Doctor!"
"My pleasure. But it is your deserts. If you will always take good care of your teeth, like now, you will never have to fear about drilling."
"I promise to brush them every day!", grinned Paddock.

"Great!", Victoria smiled and showed the boy their new bonbons, "Please take one! Those are special sweets."
"Thank you!", Paddock decided to get himself a rasperry bonbon, while his sister Anabell now got her check-up.

As well as her brother her teeth were fantastic and doctor Truffle complimented her a lot.

Proud Anabell got herself also a bonbon. Together with her brother she waited for her sister.

But Elizabeth still was afraid of the check-up.

"Nothing will happen my sweetheart.", her mother said, "Paddock and Anabell are allright, you see?"

Her two siblings were talking with Victoria, how showed them how to brush the teeth in the best way.

"But...", Elizabeth said frightened, "It c... can hurt!"
Daisy shook her head, "No, darling. Doctor Truffle will be very careful."

Eustace nodded, "I promise!" He handed over the mirror, so she could look at it, "See there's no sharp edge. I promise it won't hurt and it will be over in a second!"

"Okay...", brave Elizabeth gave him back the mirror and took a seat.

As promised the check-up was done in a few seconds and little Elizabeth Buttercup was over the moon with joy.

Her teeth were healthy and she had survived her first dentist visit.
Excited she took her special bonbon (Eustace helped her).

Daisy was assuaged about their first visit too: "Thank you so much for your wonderful treatment! I really appreciate that. You have taken their fear."

"It was our pleasure", Victoria said, but smiled proudly, "We are so happy that we could finally open our practice!"
Daisy agreed, "I can imagine! And it was a wonderful decision to open it here. A doctor was urgent! Now we just need a general doctor."

The wildboars accompanied the cows out.
"I've heard that Ichabod Macavity will move to here with his family. I know him from University.", considered Eustace, "And he is a general doctor... So I guess there will be another practice soon."

Amazed Daisy clapped hands, "Oh, wonderful! I must tell my mother immediately. She always have to drive to Pumpkinvilles - just to get a receipt for her pills."
"That is annoying - I can imagine.", Victoria answered sympathetically.
"It is... And those people there..."
"Pumpkinvilles is an unfriendly city.", the two doctors agreed - they also had no good memories to that city...

Daisy and her children said their goodbyes and went home.

Happily Eustace kissed his wife, "I'm so glad they were pleased with our practice!"
"Me too, darling."

Soon two other patients found their way into Marigolds Creek dental surgery: Pete Petite, who also wanted to get a check-up and Mrs. Cassandra Maces, Cecil's mum.

While Victoria checked Pete's teeth...

...Eustace took care of Mrs. Maces.

"It is horrible!", desperately Cassandra shook her head, "I got stucked on a root, while I was searching for herbes... And I directly fell on my mouth. I fear one of my teeth is broken!"

"Oh dear, that wasn't a nice trip.", Eustace sighed, "I will take a look first, but I fear we have to x-ray you, Mrs. Maces."
"Oh no..."
The doctor looked carefully, but like he thought, Cassandra had to be x-rayed.

"In my whole life I had never falling over a root. I just can't find an explination why I fell.", the mouse lady said, while Eustace checked the x-ray machine.
"Maybe you were thinking about something and didn't watch your feet."
"That must have been it...", Cassandra sighed loudly, "Or that tee I made this morning. I fear one of those mushrooms was the wrong one... That always happens, when I don't wear my glasses."
Eustace lifted his brows, "Tee with mushrooms?"
"It's a special vitality tee, I also sell it in my pharmacy. You must visit me one day."
"I promise, we will.", the doctor smiled, but hoped that Cassandra wouldn't forgot her glasses very often, "Thanks to you we can serve those wonderful sugar free bonbons."

After the x-raying, the worst fears of Cassandra came true: one of her back teeth was broken - to the root.
"I'm so sorry, Mrs. Maces, but we have to operate immediately."
"That is horrible!", Cassandra almost cried. Caring Eustace patted her shoulder, "I promise you, it will be a short operation."

Victoria stepped by- after she had said her goodbyes to Pete, she had listend the talk of her husband.
"Don't worry Mrs. Maces, like my husband said, it's a short op and we even don't need general anaesthesia. Unless you want one."
"God, no!", Cassandra shivered, "I hate general anaesthesia. Good that we don't need it."
Victoria nodded, "I totally understand that."

With a heavy heart the mouse lady followed the two doctors to the dentist's chair and the operation started.

But like the Truffles promised, the operation was soon over and Cassandra could relax in the little sick room.

"How are you feeling, Mrs. Maces?", Victoria asked.
"Quiete good, I think.", Cassandra answered, "It wasn't painful at all."
"That is good. You will have some toothache the next days, but it will be over soon."
Cassandra nodded, "That is okay, I have good herbes at home, I will make me a warm wrapper and have some camilla mouthwash."
Pleased the doctor agreed, "This is the right way! I promise, you will be soon healthy again."

After half an hour Cassandra was allowed to go home. Victoria helped her with the hat, "Please be careful, Mrs. Maces."
She giggled, "I will. And I will come in two days to let the wounds check."
"Perfect, then we'll see us in two days!"

Cassandra said goodbye, while Mrs. Hawthorne entered the practice.

"A wonderful day to you Mrs. Hawthorne! How could we help you?"

The first day of the dental surgery was filled with patients, who were all very happy to get their teeth checked.
Eustace Barrington and Victoria were exhausted, but over the moon. They felt at home in Marigold Creek.

Two families - one house

Dear Readers,

finally I almost finished the decorating on Beechwood hall. To celebrate this, I've wrote a new story :)

.................................................................................................

Eleanor and Mortimer von Stachel took a seat in the little bureau of Mason Tuxedo. He took a few hours off to help the hedgehog family find a new home.

"Well, we really have an almost finished house here, but there is one little point, which might sound a bit strange to you in the first moment.", Mason began.

"Now, I'm really curious!", laughed Mortimer, "Tell us about the strange point!"
"You would have to share the house with another family. It's a two families house and the upper part is already sold.."
"So there already lives a family?", Eleanor wondered, "Who's that? I've never met them."
"That's because they are just on their way to Marigold Creek. They come from Evergreen Village. Mr. Bamboo told me that they're planning to open a toyshop here."
"How exciting!", Eleanor said, "So we would both be shop owners!"
Mortimer nodded, "I'm sure we could get along with eachother!"

Mason showed a picture of a nice building with a red coloured roof, "That would be the house..."
"It's beautiful!"
"So you are willing to visit it?", Mason smiled.

The two hedgehogs looked at each other.
"Yes, we are.", Mortimer answered good mooded.
"Great, I just take the keys and then we can. .."
Mason was interrupted by his daughter Angelica, who looked at Eleanor. "Will you take a look at our dollhouse?", she whispered.

The hedgheog lady smiled, "Of course I will."
Together they went to the great new dollhouse. Immediately Peppermint and Moonlight, the youngest of the triplets, run to them.
"You have a fantastic dollhouse!", Eleanor said.
"Have you seen the little cats?", Peppermint asked.

"I'm so sorry.", ashamed Mason scratched his head, "But they want to show their dollhouse to everyone."

"Don't worry.", laughed Mortimer, "We don't mind at all. Our children were the same in that age."

After the children let them finally go, the three persons left the house and walked their way to Beechwood Hall.

As they stood infront of the building, Eleanor said: "It really is an impressive house!"
"It is and it looks so inviting!"

Fastly Mason Tuxedo opened the door, so the two hedgehogs could inspire the flat.
It had two big rooms, which could be easily divided.

Mason looked discretely out of the window, while Eleanor and Mortimer discussed if they should take the flat.
"I would buy it.", the man said, "It's pretty and has lots of space. And about the other family... If we really don't like eachother - who minds? We have two separated flats!"
His wife nodded softly, "I thought the same."
"So... should we?"
A grin appeared on her face, "We should!"
Excited Mortimer pulled his wife in his arms and gave her a kiss, "Do you think the children will also like it?"
"For sure. It's bigger than our old flat!"

Hand in hand they walked back to Mason and told him about their decision.
Happily the tom cat let them sign the contract.

Just a few days later, the walls were wallpapered and the furniture stood in the right place.

A week later suddenly the door bell rung. The children were at school and Mortimer was already working in the village store, do Eleanor was all alone at home.
Curiously she opened the door and looked in the soft face of a panda man.

"Oh, good morning!", Eleanor cleaned her hands at her apron.
"Good morning, Mrs. von Stachel. My name is Shinichi Bamboo.", he said with a kind voice, "Me and my family will live in the flat above you."

Surprised Eleanor smiled, "Nice to meet you! Please come in!"

"Thank you!", Shinichi followed her in the house, "I wanted to talk with you, because we will move in this weekend - I fear it will get louder. Unfortunatly we have just this weekend for our moving. I hope this will be okay for you."

"Of course! Don't worry.", Eleanor said and waved aside, "Moving house is always stressful and we don't mind about the sound volume."

"Thank you, Mrs. von Stachel."
"Please call me Eleanor. We are neighbours."

"It will be my pleasure.", Shinichi said, "I'm looking forward to move here - Marigold Creek seems to be such a nice village."
"You will like it here, I'm sure. May I offer you some tea?"
"That would be very kind."

Eleanor and Shinichi walked into the living room.
"Your flat looks fantastic!", complimented the panda.
"Thank you - that's so kind of you to say!"

Together they enjoyed a cup of tea, chatting about their families. Then Shinichi said goodbye. He had to prepare the moving.

As said the Bamboos moved in the next weekend and they were loudly welcomed by the von Stachel.

"Hello!", Mortimer said, "I hope you had a good journey!"
The Bamboos were a family of six: grandpa Albus, the parents Shinichi and Akane and their three children Sayuri, Aki und Chiko.

"Thank you!", Akane Bamboo answered, "We had a good journey. It's so wonderful to meet you all!"

Instantly they all said hello and started to get known of each other. The children liked eachother immediately and the adults recognized that they were on the same wavelength.

Greta showed Sayuri their room. The two girls got excited, because they both liked the same dolls.
"Do you like fairytales?", Sayuri shyly asked.
"Of course!", Greta smiled, "Especially the ones with witches!"
"Yes, they are the best!"
"Do you know that Marigold Creek also has a witch?"
"What?", Sayuri eyes widened, "Who? Are you sure?"
Greta nodded seriously, "She lives in the forest in a little scary house, I've heard."
"How scary! Is she bad?"
"I don't know, I've never met her... But Franz and I want to visit her house soon!"

Meanwhile Eleanor helped Akane with the bedding in the childrens room. She and Mortimer had decided to help their new neighbours.
"Thank you so much for helping Eleanor! It means so much for us."
"It's our pleasure! We know how stressful moving house is."
"It really is, especially with three children!"
Eleanor nodded, "Indeed. Chiko is still very young, isn't he?"
"He just turned one year.", Akane sighed, "It was a hard decision to move at this time."
"I can imagine..."

Mortimer and Shinichi at the same time started to carry the heavy furniture into the new appartement of the Bamboo family.
"Do you have a good stand?", Mortimer yelled downstairs.
"I hope so!", laughing Shinichi hauled up the table.

Meanwhile Aki and Franz climbed the big tree next to their house.
"Do you think anyone will need us?", Franz laughed.
"No, no.", Aki grinned all over his face, "And if so... They must find us first!"
The two boys were very proud about their hide-out.

Grandpa Albus Bamboo took care of little Chiko, who tried out his new play car, while the others were working.

Thanks to the help of the von Stachels the Bamboos could move in very fast. Just two days later everything was finished.
To celebrate the new house Shinichi and Akane decided to host a little party for the families. But of course Eleanor and Mortimer wanted to bring something too.

Together they enjoyed delicious cakes and donuts and the best wine Mortimer and Akane sold in their store.

It was a great party and the begin of a wonderful friendship and neighbourhood.
