Decorating the Hamburger restaurant

Dear Readers,

in the last evenings I've started to decorate the Hamburger restaurant.
Natalie Tuxedo helped me choose the right fabric - she wanted to get a country house look and not the typical fast food design.

First I've covered the tables and chairs with this green polka dot fabric. I've added some ribbons to the table cloths, so they could stay in place.

Natalie and I liked this part, but after that it took us a few days to figure out what was still missing. Well, it was the wallpaper :D. The whole wallpapering was horrible. First I didn't find any design, which I was pleased with. In the end I took that light green one and I think it's okay...

After all I'm very pleased with my Hamburger restaurant and it can finally open it's doors in Marigold Creek. Maybe I'll add a bordure, but I'm not sure.
However I'm very sorry, that the pictures are in such a bad quality. I'm still busy with Uni staff, but I hope I can write a new story soon :). And the restaurant will have it's part in it.

Many greetings,
yours Kyra

  1. Wow! The restaurant is looking very smart - definitely not a typical fast food restaurant. I love the green fabric - and Natalie's dress! It is beautiful, and the fabric suits her. The tablecloths are very cute, too.

    1. Yay, than I made it right! :D Thank you very much and I'm glad you also like Natalies dress. I think it looks a bit like a Kimono. I hadn't plan this, it just turned out after sewing^^.

    2. I agree with the kimono bit - that sort if style looks really good, and the headband (is it made from clay?) completes the outfit. You never know what things will look like whilst sewing, you just have to hope they look good!

    3. :) yep, you're right with that. The headband is from the hamburger set itself :D. But it's a nice idea to make it out of clay.

I really like the table cloth and the cushions and the wallpaper makes it look...just...just better. I am looking forward to the story!

  4. I love the green wp. It works perfectly. And a border of hamburgers would be great!!!! It is just a bit ironic that you in the end decided on something so simple after the hardship of wondering what to get. Great work!

    1. Lovely idea :). Thank you. I'm sure I'll add this border. You're right with that... I wondered about that too. But all the beautiful coloured or patterned wallpapers didn't fit to the hamburgers^^. But I'll use the nicer wallpapers for houses or maybe the hopefully soon coming bakery.

  5. Lovely way to decorate your restaurant! I like the tabletop a lot! Do you tape the fabric on the chair and table? The wallpapering is such a difficult process. I gave up! You did good on yours!

    1. The fabric can be removed :). The bordure of the table cloths holds it in place. But the fabric for the cushions is glued onto some cardboard rectangles - a real filled cushion would have been to huge/high for the chairs. You're right about the wallpapering - it was the pure horror to attach them :D. Thanks very much for your lovely comment :)

  6. Green is my one of my favourite colours! I wanted my actual room painted green but my mom wouldn't let me :( Love the really cute polka dot fabric! I wish I had the guts to wallpaper my SF houses, they seem hard to cut according to shape ><

    1. Thank you very much for your comment :). Maybe you can still convince your mum? I once had this discussion too :D.
Wallpapering the Sylvanian houses is horrible :D. I needed very long for it.
