Tutorial: How to make a ball pit

Dear Readers, 

I had the funny idea of a ball pit for the little Sylvanians, so I immediatly started to build one. If you want to rework this, you'll need:

- cardboard 
- felt
- glue
- FIMO or another polymer clay

Step 1

Cut out several stripes of cardboard, for every side of the pit you'll need 3 pieces. So afterall you'll have 12 pieces. 

Stack and glue them together. Than glue them into the form of a rectangle and add a bottom plate.

Step 2

Cover the pit with felt, so the little ones won't hurt themselves.

Step 3

Form many, many coloured balls out of the clay and bake them.

Now you can add a little tower with a slice if you want. I made that tutorial too, here it is.

You need:

- cardboard 
- felt 
- glue 
- FIMO or another polymer clay 
- wooden chopsticks

Step 1

Cut out several pieces of cardboard. This time I just made two pieces a side. You should have again 12 pieces.

Step 2

Cut out holes in two of the sides of the tower/dice.

Glue all the pieces apart of the head piece together.

Now glue a piece of felt to the bottom, than close the dice.

Step 3

Cover the dice with the felt. I had run out of purple felt- that's why I added red and blue.

Step 4

Cut 4 identical pieces of chopsticks. Cover them in felt and glue them to the bottom of the dice.

Sorry for the bad quality :/.

Step 5

Cut out another cardboard plate, cover it in fabric and glue them to the chopsticks.

 The footholds will be straight again as soon as you glue them to the bottom plate.

Step 6

Make a ladder out of several chopsticks and glue them together.

Step 7: The slice

Roll out some clay and cut a rectangle. Now form a curve with the help of some aluminium foil and add a railing for security. 

Step 8

Bake the slice and glue it to the tower.

And you're finshed :).

I hope you had fun with the tutorial, it isn't that perfect, but I think it's a cute idea^^.
