I had the funny idea of a ball pit for the little Sylvanians, so I immediatly started to build one. If you want to rework this, you'll need:
- cardboard
- felt
- glue
- FIMO or another polymer clay
Step 1
Cut out several stripes of cardboard, for every side of the pit you'll need 3 pieces. So afterall you'll have 12 pieces.
Stack and glue them together. Than glue them into the form of a rectangle and add a bottom plate.
Cover the pit with felt, so the little ones won't hurt themselves.
Step 3
Form many, many coloured balls out of the clay and bake them.
Now you can add a little tower with a slice if you want. I made that tutorial too, here it is.
You need:
- cardboard
- felt
- glue
- FIMO or another polymer clay
- wooden chopsticks
Step 1
Cut out several pieces of cardboard. This time I just made two pieces a side. You should have again 12 pieces.
Step 2
Cut out holes in two of the sides of the tower/dice.
Glue all the pieces apart of the head piece together.
Now glue a piece of felt to the bottom, than close the dice.
Step 3
Cover the dice with the felt. I had run out of purple felt- that's why I added red and blue.
Step 4
Cut 4 identical pieces of chopsticks. Cover them in felt and glue them to the bottom of the dice.
Sorry for the bad quality :/.
Step 5Cut out another cardboard plate, cover it in fabric and glue them to the chopsticks.
Step 6
Make a ladder out of several chopsticks and glue them together.
Step 7: The slice
Roll out some clay and cut a rectangle. Now form a curve with the help of some aluminium foil and add a railing for security.
Step 8
Bake the slice and glue it to the tower.
And you're finshed :).
Here are some pictures of three little Sylvanians playing around.
I hope you had fun with the tutorial, it isn't that perfect, but I think it's a cute idea^^.
Oh and here I have a "spoiler"- photo of my planned farmers market. It's part of the cheese stand :).
Many greetings and read you soon,
yours Kyra
PS: The new story is finished, but I again have to wait for better weather so I can take some photos -.-''
PPS: Sorry for the dirty looking underground of some photos - I took them while handicrafting, that's why I hadn't the time to clean up :D
Again, so so so cute and I just love the little baby Marmalade playing in the ball pit
AntwortenLöschenI will try this tutorial!
Thank you :) :). Hihi, the little Marmalade twins are very cute :). Yay, can't wait to see your playground! :)
LöschenGreat idea! Thanks for the fantastic tutorial! Your cheese looks delicious! xo Jennifer
AntwortenLöschenThank you! :) I really hope to mske mor food and stands for the market soon.
LöschenSuch a cute ball pit! The cheese looks really yummy, who owns the stand?
AntwortenLöschen:) thank you. The brown mouse family from the EB series will run the stand. :)
LöschenOh my gosh! It is so cute :D
AntwortenLöschenYour farmer's market looks absoloutely to die for. I am actually trying to create something like that...do you have any tips for me? And how on earth did you make that magnificent table? :D I understand if you don't want to give away your secrets, but if you could point me in the right direction, I would be VERY thankful.
MW
:D thank you Mia!
LöschenOf course I can give you tips, you can also e-mail me if you want :). I used very, very thin wood for the table. Better said that wood, which is used for orange packages. You can cut it with scissors. Than I just glued them in form of the original orange box(but smaller of course) and turned it atound :).
Aww this is soooo cute! The little ball pit is to die for!! I love it! And the cheese stand is making me hungry! Great job once again Kyra! :D
AntwortenLöschen:D thank you very much Paige! Oh no, wait... *gives you a virtual cheese piece* :D.
LöschenDid you receive my e-mails? I fear, they have gone missing again O.O.
You are so smart! It seems that cardboard is so useful and can be made to different structures. The playground looks so fun for little ones. The cheese stand looks great too! Do you bake the clay in the home oven? I never played with clay so I really like to try. I heard there's a kind of clay which doesn't need bake and can be dry in the air. I am confused about the difference. :)
AntwortenLöschenYes, cardboard is a gorgeous material! :) And it's cheap :D. Thank you :).
LöschenYes, I bake the clay in my normal oven. It's not dangerous, you just shouldn't bake normal food and clay at the same time. The smell of the clay would be bad for the food. There really is a air drying clay, it's called "FIMO air", but I never trief it out. I hope you try making clay things, it really makes fun :)
Both ball pin and slide tower looks so adorable, really great work and wow that table with the cheese looks really good, look forward to see your farmer market.
AntwortenLöschenThank you so much for your compliments! I hope to show more of the farmer market soon :)
LöschenYou are so clever! And this looks really feasible! That playground looks darling. I must say I love the ball pit the most! It's just too cute!
AntwortenLöschenAw, thank you Jane! :)
