Advent Calendar: 1st December

1st December

.................................................................................................................

Excited Anton jumped out of his bed and run through the children’s room, upstairs directly into the kitchen.

“Good morning, dear!”, his mother said, who prepared the breakfast.

“Good morning, mum. Can I have my advent calendar?”, squirrelly the young rabbit jumped around.

“Of course you can! Here it is!”, Flora handed over a colorful advent calendar, filled with all kinds of sweets.

“Thank you!”, Anton gave her a kiss, “Oh wow! It looks great! I can’t wait to see what’s behind the first door!”
At this moment Hans appeared in the kitchen, “Oh, good morning, Anton. You are already awake? And I see you got your advent calendar.” His dad smiled, “Should we hang it up together?”

“Yes, please!”
Together they fixed the calendar at the wall. “Now you can open the first door!”

Carefully and also a bit ceremonial Anton opened the door with number 1.

“A cookie in the shape of a sleigh! How cool is that?”, he yelled, “But I will ate it after breakfast.”

His parents smiled at each other, Anton was always thoughtful with the things he got and appreciated them very much.

Soon also the other Löffel children appeared and got their own advent calendar.

Behind Luna’s first door was hidden a chocolate star and behind Rosie’s a candy cane. All three enjoyed their candy very much.

Finally the advent season had started in Marigold Creek – All children and also the parents had looked forward to this special time of the year. So many wonderful Christmas traditions waited for the villagers before Christmas Eve.

And also other events happened in this year’s Christmas season…

................................................................................

Dear Readers,

I hope you had a good start in the first December.

The following 23 stories will be different in length and theme - otherwise it would be boring, I think :D. I hope you will enjoy the advent time together with the villagers of Marigold Creek.

Chaos on the Buttercup farm part 2

Dear Readers,

as promised here's part two.
.................................................................................................

Just three days after the last visitation of a flat, the next flat was a "desaster" (in the words of Bessie).
The cause was one too little window.
At this moment Hornbull and Daisy decided to go with the granparents next time Mason found a house or flat for them.

In the meantime, Elsie finished her ice cream cart, made the ice cream after the original recipt of their grandmother and started her business just one day later.

She drove around Marigold Creek and stopped first at the nursery. The children knew that she would come today and runned to cart. Their parents had give them some money.

"Slowly!", Katie Hawthorn said, "We will all form a line and than one by one can buy an ice!"

The children fastly did what Katie said and ordered their favourite ice creams. They all tasted delicious!

"I'm glad everyone likes the ice cream.", said Elsie.

"Oh they're wonderful!", meant Katie, who had bought herself a waffer with chocolate ice cream. I'm so happy you moved into our little village!"
"Thank you.", smiled the young woman.

After the nursery the next aim was near the bakery and the hamburger restaurant, where lots of villagers were on the way.
Pete Petite and Bobby Roberts squalled to the stand.

"Hello, Elsie! We've waited for you!", laughed Pete and his best friend continued: "You are our rescue!"
"Oh, hello! How can I help you two?"

"I would like to have a chocolate ice-cream.", said Bobby.
"And I a strawberry one!"
"Here we go!", Elsie giggled, "I'm glad I could rescue you!"
Pete nodded, "Indeed, it tastes wonderful!"

More and more of the villagers appeared and bought that many ice-cream that Elsie had to close her business earlier than she expected.

It was a complete success! (And all without the notorious milkbottle)

In the evening the Buttercups celebrated the start of the ice-cream cart together - everything was fine that evening. Not one conflict happened.

At the next morning Hornbul and Daisy accompanied the grandparents - in the hope that they could persuade Bessie, if something seemed to disturb her.

"Good morning everybody!", said Mr. Tuxedo, the black cat, good mooded, "I see you brought help."

Angus nodded, "It's the best I think!"
The cat smiled, "Okay, than here we have the next flat, it's a two room appartement in the upper floor."

Interested the cows followed Mr. Tuxedo and looked at the flat.
"It's very nice!", Daisy said.

"And it has a balcony!", Angus pointed out, "I like it. The floor has a nice optic and it's really quiete here. No noises at all."

Bessie carefully looked in every edge, inspired every window and door. Than she shook her head, "But that's the problem. It's too quiete! I think I would feel, if I would live on a graveyard!"
"But if we live here, we will talk and the TV and the radio will make sounds. And when we get visitors it'll be louder too.", Angus argued.

"No, no and again no! I'm not pleased!"
"But mum..."
Hornbull interrupted his wife, "Give her a chance to find the perfect flat, it's a hard decision! And she must like it, otherwise she won't be happy."
Daisy sighed, but she knew he was right.
"No problem at all!", Mr. Tuxedo said, "I have four other flats planned. But unfortunatly we just can visit three today. The last one will be renovated until the next week..."

Together the family walked too the next house, which was near to the nursery and the school.

Before they even entered the flat, Bessie yelled: "Oh dear! No, that can't be! It's too noisy here! I love children at all ages, but that's too much for my nerves! I might get a heart attack!"
Angus rolled his eyes, "You are full of health, dear!"

"Mum, you will at least look at the flat!", Daisy said with a severe tone in her voice.
Grumbling Bessie followed into the house. But neither the beautiful chimney nor the fantastic view of the marketplace could convince her.

Now they wandered to the next flat, a cozy small granny-flat.

"It's too small! I can never life in such a tiny room!", aghast Bessie touched her fore-head, "I would feel like a bug!"
Angus snorted, "But there is more than one room, MY LOVE!"

"I can't... No, I don't want to live here, MY DEAR HUSBAND!", Bessie looked at her daughter, "Daisy, my butterflower, you understand me, right? You live in such a wonderful house. You wouldn't want to live here, too!"
The woman shook her head, "I like this flat, mum!"

"You attack me from behing! My own flesh and blood!"
At this moment even the calm Mason Tuxedo had to roll this eyes, this cow exaggerated horrible!
"Well...", he said, "One house is left for today, maybe you will like this one..."

Bugged the cows followed the agent to the last object... This time it was too...
"...far away from Hornbull and Daisy's farm! Such a long way, how should I visit my grandchildren every day?!",  Bessie loudly moaned, "It's disastrous!"

"BESSIE MELINDA BUTTERCUP!", Angus squinted, "You are SO exhausting! All the flats or houses we visited were very nice, but you found always something to critisize. We MUST find an own home, we can't stay forever in their house!"

"But.... But...", with tears in her eyes Bessie rushed away and the rest of the family stood helpless in the room.

"Ähm...", Mason harrumphed, "I guess, this is the wrong flat, too?"
"I'm so sorry!", Angus said, "My wife is nerve-wrecking sometimes... But I'm sure the next house is perfect!"

Daisy and Hornbull looked at each other. Hopefully her father would be right.

The next days weren't the best at the Buttercup's farm. Bessie was huffy first and didn't talk to anyone beside her grandchildren. Than she wanted to make up her behaviour by beeing particular friendly. But she overacted with her friendlyness (One time she even destroyed a pot while she wanted to help Daisy to cook) and drove again her family mad.

It was even that bad, that all three children were happy when they could return in their room and do homework!

Just shortly before the situation turned totally mad, the next visitation stood before.
But this time Daisy and Hornbull stayed at home and did some administrative work. Also Daisy just didn't want to listen again to her mothers nagging.

"Maybe they will find a flat today!", Hornbull said, while he listed the prizes for the farmers market.

His wife looked up and lifted an eyebrow, "You know it's my mother you're talking about! It would be a wonder if she wouldn't find anything in that flat."

"Let's wait..."

Two hours later the grandparents returned.

"Aaaand?", Hornbull and Daisy hold hands.
Bessie glanced, while Angus answered,  "We are proudly owners of a new, wonderful flat with terrace!"
"Oh thanks god!", Daisy cheered, "We're so happy for you!"
Bessie hugged her tightly, "It's such a wonderful flat! You must see it! It is just PERFECT! It's the most beautiful flat I've seen you, beside your house of course! Oh I must everyone tell the good news! And Anabell, Paddock and Elizabeth can have their own room too!"
"That's great. Congratulations!", Hornbull grinned.
"It really looks great and I can have my own garden, too!", Angus explained, "I can grow some vine!"

The two man started to laugh - both were huge wine fans.
"Perfect! I will help you to press the grapes!"
"I've always said that, but I must say it again: You're the perfect son-in-law!", Angus smirked.
"And you're the best father-in-law!", said Hornbull laughing, "Let's celebrate your new flat! I think I have a good red wine here."

The adults clinked classes and all the stress of the last days was gone.
When the Buttercup children returned home this day they found five laughing adults sitting on the floor, who made funny jokes about each other.

Everything was fine again on the Buttercup farm and a peaceful advent time stood before.

Chaos on the Buttercup farm Part 1

Dear Readers,

the Buttercup story goes on and Daisys feared troubles seem to come true...
.................................................................................................

Anabell turned herself in the bed. While her two siblings still slept, she was awake since half an hour. She heard her mum fussing around in the the kitchen, while her dad growled something.
It was kind of unnormal, that her mother was upset - normally she was always in a good temper.

Silently Anabell sneaked out of her bed into the kitchen.

"Daisy, honey, don't fuss, just because of a wrong placed cup.", Hornbull said rolling his eyes.

His wife glanced at him, "That is just the beginning! Wait a few days and you will totally agree with me!"

"She's your mother and you know she just means well.", Hornbull detected his daughter and opened his arms, "Good morning my little honeyflower!"

"Good morning, dad!", Anabell snuggled against him, "Why are you upset, mum?"
Daisy looked like she was caught, "I'm so sorry that I waked you up with my bleating! Your grandma placed the cups in the first shelf and not in the..."

"... second one, where it belongs!", Hornbull accomplished her sentence, which made his daughter laugh.
"Don't worry mum, maybe it's because she's smaller than you!"
"But... But that's no...", Daisy stopped, "You're right dear. I shouldn't say those things.". She sat herself beside Anabell and gave her a dearly hug, "Hopefully I won't devil you when you're older!"

"You could never devil me, mum!", Anabell smiled, "You're the best mum in the world!"
Daisy felt better immediatly, "Thank you my darling!"
"But where are grandma and grandpa?"
"They are at the bakery.", Daisy sighed, "Oh dear, I'm a cruel woman! Grandma wanted to buy us some fresh buns and bread. I feel so guilty!"
Hornbul shook his head, "It's okay, but try not to overdo. It's a hard situation for all of us."

"And where's aunt Elsie?", Paddock appeared and yawned loudly.
"She visits the Löffels.", answered his dad.

"Oh no, I should have gone with her! Anton and I are planning Muddys birthday present!"
"But you'll see him on monday in school!"
"But that's still such a loooong time...."

At this moment Bessie and Angus returned.

"We're baaaack!", yelled grandma Buttercup full of energy and started to place all the dishes on the table (of course not in the correct order).

But Daisy stayed quiet this time- after all she loved her mother and thought "Well, it's just for a few weeks. Dad told me this morning that they wanted to look for a new flat the day after tomorrow."

Together the family enjoyed the breakfast (Elizabeth slept until lunch time). After that Angus and Hornbull looked at Angus' stamp album...

Daisy read a book with Paddock and Annabel...

 ...and Bessie assorted her wool.

While assorting the cow spread the wool all over the room - luckily Daisy was concerned with something different.

It was a peaceful day, but Sunday morning started with a long discussion between Bessie, Daisy and Elsie.
"You MUST add a milkbottle to your ice-cream cart! How would it look without one?", Bessie said, "Ice is made of milk, you MUST use a symbol!"

Daisy shook her head, "But not every sort of ice is made of milk, mum. There's also water ice or sorbet!"
"And I just don't WANT a silly milkbottle on my bicycle!", muttered Elsie, "I'm not selling milk or cheese!"
"But every ice business has a milkbottle in it's sign!"

"I've never seen that before!", Daisy argued, "And if Elsie just doesn't want to have a milkbottle?"
"In my time they all had a milkbottle."
Elsie snorted, "So for 100 years!"
"I'm not that old, miss!", aggrieved Bessie said, "You really hurt my feelings. I just..." Her voice turned louder and shriller, "I just want the best for you. I just... I just want that your business has a good start! And you broke the heart of your mother!"

Huffy she walked away, while Elsie did the same.

Daisy rolled her eyes, she just wanted to have a silent and relaxing sunday...
Luckily at this moment Elizabeth came to her and asked her mum, if she would play with her, which was more relaxing than listening to another conflict.

In the late afternoon both, Bessie and Eksie had calmed down. Also it was decided that the ice-cream cart won't have a milkbottle.

On the next morning Daisy and Hornbull enjoyed quietly a cup of coffee, while they read some magazines. The children were at school and nursery, Elsie was shopping and Angus and Bessie visited the first flat.

"Oh dear, terrible news. The orphanage in Pumkinvilles got burned down. Luckily none of the children were harmed, but they have no place to stay...", Hornbull read, he looked up to his wife, "They're planning to send the children into the surrounding villages."

Daisy dropped her head, "It's so sad, the poor children. I wish we could adopt one, but under those circumstances..."
"I know. I feel the same.", her husband took her hand, "But if some of the children really will be send to Marigold Creek, I'm sure there will be a way, they find a home."

"I hope so...", Daisy said. She continued reading her magazine, but her thoughts revolved the orphans of Pumpkinvilles...

After midday, the grandparents returned.
"And? How was the flat Mr. Tuxedo showed you?", Daisy asked full of expectation.

"It was way too big for us!", Bessie said, "There could live a whole family! No, no, no. Nothing for us!"
"It was a house...", her husband told his daughter, "It really was too big."
"Well, okay, I can understand that."
"But I must say that Mr. Tuxedo is a nice man, I didn't know you even had an estate agency here!"
Hornbull nodded, "Yes, it's quiete new. Mason, Mr. Tuxedo, loves to help people finding a new home. It's a hobby of him. I heard he will have a small bureau in his new house too."
Angus smiled, "Than I'm sure he will help us furthermore!"
"For sure!"

Even her parents didn't find the perfect flat today, Daisy was still confident. But this feeling didn't hold to long...

To be continued
.................................................................................................

I've written the whole story, but unfortunatly I have to fight with the dark weather and couldn't take all the pictures. That's why I splitted the story in two parts - I hope that I can take the pictures for the second half soon. I hope you forgive my cruelness^^

Many Greetings,
yours Kyra
