Advent Calendar: 21th of December

21th of December

................................................................................

Flora was just hanging the laundry on this last Advent Sunday, when suddenly the door bell rung.

“This must be…”, she heard the voice of Anton and then an excited scream, “Grandma! And Grandpa!”

“Grandma!” -  this was Rose.
“Grandpa!” – this was Luna.
“Mum! Dad!” – that was her husband Hans.

Flora run into the kitchen and detected her parents-in-law, who were surrounded by the Löffel family.

“Karl, Elfriede!”, Flora waved, before grandma Löffel was able to hug her.
“Hello, Flora! You look wonderful, my dear!”, Elfriede glanced all over the face, “We are so happy to be back in Marigold Creek!”

“I’m so glad you returned safely!”, she said, “You must tell us everything about your journey around the world! And it’s so wonderful, that you were able to return before Christmas! We all missed you so much!”

Elfriede blushed, “Aww, thank you! We missed you too!”
“We did!”, Karl nodded fastly, “We thought of you every day! You really look fabulous, Flora! And you of course too, my little chocolate cake!” He winked at his son, who had to laugh about his old nickname.

“And you all have grown so much!”, grandpa Löffel smiled at the children, “You are the sweetest grandchildren of the world. And we have brought you maaaany things along from all over the world. Should we take a look together?”

“Yay!”, Luna, Anton and Rose cheered.

The family enjoyed a wonderful Sunday together. The children got many special gifts from unknown countries and listened to the exciting stories of the many adventures their grandparents had.

Also Hans and Flora talked about the renovated bakery, which made Karl and Elfriede very curious. They promised to look at it tomorrow (it was already very late and dark).

"I'm so happy you got the last plane!", Anton said already very tired, "It would have been such a shame..."
"I can't imagine a Christmas without you!", Luna smiled, then she moaned loudly.
"I think it's time for you to go into bed!", Hans declared.
"But, we want to talk with grandma and grandpa!"

"Tomorrow you can again talk with them as long as you want!", Flora smiled and softly lifted Rose, who already fell asleep.
"Oookay...".
Luna and Anton wished their grandparents a good night, then they followed their parents into the childrens room.

"Goodnight, my little chocolate muffins!", Hans gave them kiss, while his wife covered the children with the soft blanket.

"Goodnight daddy, goodnight mummy!"
Just a few minutes later they were fallen asleep, happy that their grandparents finally had returned home and excited about the coming Christmas

.........................................................................

I wish you all a wonderful Sunday!

Yours Kyra

  5. The cuteness of your stories is never ending, but too I sense some irritation with Flora about her in-laws visiting?
