3th of December

“Mum, can you
help me with my wish list?”, asked Anabell Buttercup, while her little sister
yelled, “Me too, please!”
The girls took
place and showed their mother their colorful wish lists. Elizabeth had drawn
many stars on to her paper, while Anabell had decorated it with a Christmas tree.
“You’ve done a
wonderful job! I’m sure the Christkind (An explanation follows under the story)will love it!”, said Daisy proudly and
kissed her both daughters, “Where’s Paddock? Doesn’t he want to come to us?”
“He told me that
his wish list should be a secret!”, Anabell shook her head, “I don’t have any
idea what he could want to have, what we shouldn’t know about…”
Her mother
giggled, “Well, we will for sure find out!” She looked at the papers in front
of her, “What do you want to write first?”
“A rocking
horse!”, said Elizabeth proudly, “I want to be a cowboy!”
“Ok, my dear.
Let me take your hand.” Carefully she laid her fingers around the small hand of
her youngest and helped writing Elizabeth’s first wish.
Now it was
Anabell’s time, she wanted to get a new doll. Daisy didn’t have to help her
writing, but she told her the right letters. Devotional she wrote down the four
letters. “Thank you, mum!”
“It’s my
pleasure!”
Together Daisy
and her daughters added more items to the lists, until they were finished.
“Oh hello, look
who’s there!”, Daisy blinked. Paddock yelled: “Please don’t look at my wish
list! It’s a secret!”
“Don’t worry,
dear. We promise to not look at your wish list.”
Paddock calmed
down and sat next to his sisters, “Okay, do you think the Christkind will fetch
our wish lists this evening?”
“Hopefully!”
“Maybe.”, his
mother said, “But we just have to wait. The Christkind has a lot to do.”
“Because she
must collect all wish lists from all children of the world!”, answered Daisy, “That
needs a long time.”
Elizabeth and Anabell
placed their lists also on the window bench. Now it was time to wait.
From time to
time the children took a look at the bench, but the wish lists were still
there. When Daisy brought them into bed, Elizabeth asked: “But what is when the
Christkind doesn’t come?”
Tranquilised the
children fell asleep.

The "Christkind" is the traditional German gift bringer at Christmas Eve, you can imagine her like an angel. We also have someone like Santa Claus, called St. Nicholas. But he comes at the 6th of December. He also have presents, but those are normally just little ones. For example a book and some gingerbread. You will read about him at the 6th :)
But somehow the Christkind is disappearing here - Santa Claus is taking over :D. But because I grew up with the Christkind I thought that Marigold Creek can also have a Christkind^^.
Yours Kyra
This is really sweet! Giggled alot about Elizabeth's rocking horse! Wonder what is on Paddock's list.
AntwortenLöschenHmh... I think we will find out! Thank you so much EB! :)
LöschenSuch a great story! So sweet, and all the children are so cute :D :D Have they written letters to St Nicholas as well? Or do you not write letters to him? :) This cheered up my morning (I'm at home, sick, again >:0)
AntwortenLöschen:D thank you so much! No, just to the Christkind. St. Nicholas has a golden book, where all things are written, but you'll find out more at the 6th :). I'm so sorry to hear that you're still ill :(

LöschenThe Christkind sounds like a fun tradition! Teehee why did Paddock want to keep his wishlist a secret?? Hmmm... Lovely story, I do hope the Christkind picks up their lists soon, but with all the Sylvanians in the world to do it may take a while. ;)
AntwortenLöschen:D indeed it would take very long! Thank you :)
LöschenInteresting tradition. They are lucky to have their Christkind. Kids' wishlist sounds so innocent. It makes me smile.
AntwortenLöschenOh yes, they do :).
LöschenNice to see you're sharing information about German Christmas traditions :) I have heard of St. Nicholaus, but Christkind is new to me. (Sorry I have been busy and haven't read your wonderful stories.)
