2th of December
.................................................................................................
“It snows! It
snows!”, yelled Mazie Hawthorn excited. The little mouse sat on her parents bed
and looked out the window, where big snowflakes slowly fall down on the frozen
ground.
“Oh that’s
wonderful!”, Michael now also looked through the window, “And what snowflakes!
Darling, you must look at that!”
“It’s so
romantic!”, sighed Katie happily, “I love the winter time! Hopefully the
weather will stay like that. Last year it was such a pity – Christmas without
snow.”
“The newspaper
says that we’ll have a white Christmas!”, her husband said.
“Let’s hope they’re
right!”
When Katie and
Mazie went to the nursery they faced many children, who enjoyed the first snow
of the year, while they waited for their bus to the school.
Good mooded
Katie opened the door, she planned something special with the nursery kids for
this year.
Soon all the
children had said their goodbye’s to their mothers and entered the nursery.
The children
laughed, then said “good morning” too.
“I want to tell
you about something I would love to do with you!”
Curious the
children listened.
“I would love to
make a Christmas play with you!”
A loud
“Yippieh!” was yelled by all the children.
“Is it for
church?”, Rosie Löffel asked, “My older brother told me about… Christmas…
plays…” Her last words were said thoughtfully.
“And the
shepherds!”, Monty said smiling, “I want to be a shepherd! They have a wand!”
Katie laughed, “Not a wand, you mean a crook! A wand is something that wizards
have.”
“Oh.”, he
blushed, “I’m sorry.” “You mustn’t feel ashamed, everything is ok. And of
course you can be a shepherd.”
“Yay!”
The mouse woman looked
softly at the children, “Can you tell me, which characters we need, beside the
shepherds?”
“And an angel!”,
said Maizie.
“And those bad
men in the taverns.”, Elizabeth grimaced, “They are so cruel!”
Katie clapped
her hands, “Wonderful! You already know a lot of things about the Christmas
story.”
“And we need the
three kings!”, Rosie meant.
“Oh, right! We
can also add them to the play.”, the nursery teacher nodded, “They visited
little Jesus later and not directly at the Christmas night.”
“Really?”
“Oh yes
please!”, all children yelled in a choir and Katie started to read. About the
population census of imperator Augustus, the long journey of Maria and Joseph,
the stable and the birth of Jesus…
After that all
the children immediately started to make costumes, using paper and some fabric
Katie brought.
Sympathetically
she watched the children.
This years
Christmas play would be for sure a huge success!

I hope you enjoyed the story :). Does someone of you have snow already in their country? Here in Germany it's very cold, but unfortunately no snow had fallen until now :(.

AntwortenLöschenThank you M! We will hear more about the play on the 23th and 24th :D
LöschenWhat a heartwarming little story! I just love the young children's excitment about the snow, and engagement with the Christmas Play. I cannot wait to hear more...I guess I'll just have to wait until tomorrow. *sigh sigh* :D
AntwortenLöschenMW
Thank you! :) Yes, you have to wait a bit, but I promise you'll hear more about the little ones :)
LöschenI can't WAIT for the Christmas play! This is such an adorable story, I wish there was snow in England (but, traditionally, there is only rain ;D)
AntwortenLöschen:D unfortunatly you have to wait until the 23th before we can hear more about the play. I'm so glad you liked it! Bad weather! Still I hope it'll snows in England :)
LöschenNever mind, as you say there will be many more stories in between to enjoy :D :D
LöschenI loved it! Yes it is always raining in England, in Summer, Winter, Autumn and Spring ;) I hope so too! And I hope it snows in Deutschland :)

AntwortenLöschenThank you so much Sigrun :). I'm glad you like the pictures, because I always try to let my Sylvanians "move"/act realistic.
LöschenOh no:(. That's a pity!
Wonderful story, I love that your critters enjoy the snow, it's so peaceful. We have already had snow but it was early... today it rained and it froze as ice... Not as fun! :( The preschool children are so funny and adorable with all their answers to Katie. I love your little stories each day, I take my iPad and while eating my breakfast I take a look at them! It starts my day off and puts me in a good mood :)
AntwortenLöschenI can promise that there will be a few more snow stories :). Thank you so much, I'm so glad that I can give you a nice start in the day! :) It's my huge pleasure!

LöschenHere in New Zealand its summer at christmas =( I wish we had snow, it would make it seem more christmassy, but I layed down some snow on basswoood creek all the same.I can't wait for the play =)
AntwortenLöschenEmily
I didn't know that! I'm sorry :(. You'll here more about the play on the 23th :)
LöschenI agree with what Emily F said...Snow makes Christmas more romantic. But as I live in Orlando, we don't even have winter, not alone snow.
AntwortenLöschenThe first two photos just melt my heart. How cute the little mice look! And I look forward to the Christmas play.
I'm so sorry! Yes, it's more romantic! I fear we won't have snow either. It rains and rains and rains ^^.
