Advent Calendar: 5th of December + Giveaway!!!

5th of December

The delicious smell of cinnamon and fresh baked Christmas cookies blew through the house.
The whole Löffel family stood together in the kitchen and worked. While Hans made new dough and Flora checked the oven, their three children cut out new cookies and decorated them.

They already had made two sorts, some dipped in chocolate, and the others filled with strawberry jam. Now they prepared some with colored sugar sprinkles.
“I make the moons without sprinkles!”, Anton declared, “It would destroy the nice form!”
Luna nodded, “But I will add sprinkles to the circles!”
“And I to the hearts!”, smiled little Rosie.
“You are doing very well!”, Hans said, “All cookies look fantastic!”

“I think these are the best we ever had!”, grinned Luna.
“Indeed!”, proudly Anton showed his baking sheet.

Meanwhile Margarete Petite decorated together with Ron and Victoria a huge gingerbread house.

Her husband played with their younger twins Pippin and Marmalade.

Ron handed over the gingerbread, “Here for the wall!”
“Thank you, honey!”, Margarete said, “I will place it right there!”

“Can I use some of the sugar balls to decorate the roof?”, asked Victoria.

“Of course you can!”
Carefully she placed the sugar balls onto the gingerbread house.
“Pete, Pippin, Marmalade, you must come and look. We’ve made a real work of art!”, the bear woman called the rest of the family.

Wondering Marmalade and Pippin looked at the gingerbread house.
“It’s amazing! You’re real artists!”, Pete kissed Ron and Victoria, then his wife, “I’m so proud of you!”

Marigold Creek’s postman was pleased – very pleased. He could have never imagined that he would be married to such a beautiful and lovely wife like Margarete. And that he ever would have children! Pete felt like the happiest man on earth, his family was his pride and his biggest treasure.

......................................................................

I hope you like the Christmas cookies and the gingerbread house, because both the Löffel’s and the Petites made you some too, which one lucky person can win.

Today I will host my first giveaway and I would be so happy if many of my wonderful readers would be participating. :) With this giveaway I want to say thank you for your support and all your lovely comments!
I read every single of them, they make me smile and encourage me to make as many posts as I can!

So let’s take a closer look, what you can win (I made all parts myself using polymer clay and green pipe cleaner).

First of all a plate with different sorts of Christmas cookies. Unfortunately I really don’t know the correct names for them in English. But most of them result from a dough with lots of butter and vanilla sugar.

The little moons are called “Vanillekipferl” in Germany. They can break really easily, because the dough is a bit crumbly, but they taste heavenly of vanilla.
The curled ones and the stripes with chocolate are called “Spritzgebackenes”, which would be translated as something which is first sprayed and then baked. The name describes more the less the process, because you have to press the dough through a mincer with special attachments. The dough often includes powdered almonds and/or hazelnuts.
You for sure know the ones filled with jam – I know them as “Doppeldecker” (double decker) or “Terrassen” (terrace).
The others don’t have special names, mostly we call them cut cookies because of the cookie cutter :D.

Than you will get this cute gingerbread house.

And some other gingerbreads, so your Sylvanians or dolls won’t be hungry over Christmas.

As a last gift I made an Advent wreath. In Germany we light one candle at each Advent Sunday (first Sunday 1 candle, second Sunday 2 candles and so on^^) - so it's also a kind of count down...

The Christmas cookies can be hold by the dolls, Luna shows it.

And just for fun a comparison between the real Christmas cookie and the miniature one on top of it :D.

If you want to take part in this giveaway you just have to leave comment at this post :). Closing date is the 11th of December; I will draw the winner on the 12th December.

Good luck everyone!

Many Greetings,

Yours Kyra

    1. Aww, thank you so much! :) I don't know, why or how I really managed to write all these stories, if I'm honest. I love writing, but at the moment I have so much Uni stuff to do, that it's hard to find time and muse. But I'm so glad it worked out and that I was able to write these little stories. Oh and you're entered :D
